Fashion Week.

It's fashion week here in New York City.

...Glamour.

As one might expect, I've spent it all amidst the artistically innovative, the visually stunning, the fashionably inspiring.

...Excitement.

I've been watching humans walk down long, straight, thin walkways in the season's latest trends.

...Beauty.

I've been witnessing the cutting-edge of stylistic creation. I've been taking in each piece with careful observation.

...Allure.

Yes, that's right. I've been going to classes.

...Mao Zedong.

While the "pieces" I speak of are my nightly readings, the artistically innovative are my classmates, the long walkways are the school corridors, the fashionably inspiring are all around. I have come to learn that attending NYU is like holding fashion week every week. Recently named America's Most Fashionable College by Women's Wear Daily, NYU students' dress sense is as colorful as the city around them.

Having had a glimpse of what's been on the runway this past week, I have come to know that it is not Michael Kors, D&G or any of the perennial fashion-week names that have caught my eye; it has been J. Crew. Yes, J. Crew.

I am growing more and more fond of this classic prep look with a bit of an urban edge. And the J. Crew Spring collection looks to embody that quite well. A simple tie, rolled-up jeans, and an oxford matched with loafers or wingtips is a look I will be frequenting come the Spring months - and probably during what's left of the warmth now as well.

The most vital component, is always for me, the shoes. I've been on a vigilant watch for the optimal pair of wingtips for quite some time now, and while a little more work does, admittedly, have to be done, I almost have the crosshairs set on the perfect pair.

A heads up - the Zara website has finally added its online store.

Shake it out,
Tucker
