Nerd Alert.

Hey guys, my name is Tucker.

I love Star Wars. I also contribute to a fashion blog. For these two contrasting facts alone, I pride myself on being truly one-in-a-million.

In a few weeks, I'll be moving to New York to start my Freshman year at New York University. Quite a change from my small-town upbringing, but I'm looking forward to spending my days in the meanest greatest city in the world.

My style inspirations come from all across the board: 1960's Ivy League, modern urban European, nerd-chic. I frequently spend time in thrift stores, with one of my latest finds being a perfect-fitting tweed blazer (which also doubles as part of my Doctor Who costume - nerd alert.)

Shoes, however, have always been the chief articulation of both my style and personality. Most recently, my toes have spent their time in Sperry topsiders and my favorite Bed Stu boots.

I couldn't be more excited to be the delegate of the XY chromosome community here on College Tourist and I look forward to sharing more soon.

Bali Belly

This past weekend I took mini holiday from Singapore and went to Bali. If you're geography skills aren't as sharp as they use to be, Bali is an island in Indonesia, south-east of Singapore via a quick 2 and half hour flight.

It was definitely a different feel from Singapore, I would relate it to countries like the Dominican Republic or Costa Rica that are a bit more underdeveloped. I should also note I think I'm getting "soft" from living in marvelously modern Singapore. I'll probably consider LA to be a third-world country after my stay here.

Nonetheless it was nice to get away, and the best part was that I went surfing! For 2 days I rode the baby waves like a champ! With help from my Balinese instructors of course. Regardless, I felt like a boss coming off the water.

My recommendation is if you're in Asia and looking for a good, cheap beach getaway, Bali is the place. You'll also meet a lot of other young travelers, like the group of Dutch tourists I met in my hotel (seen pictured above). Fun fact; Micheal the blonde guy pictured, is a Dutch native, but can also speak Chinese and Indonesian. There's nothing more mind blowing for a taxi driver than a big Dutch guy that can snap back at you in your local language.

And if you're wondering what Bali belly is, look it up. Just avoid the tap water, and you should be smooth sailing ;)

Weekend in NYC

Hey guys!

Over the weekend my mum (creator of 27 Latitude), Jess (my older sister), and I (Sash) traveled into NYC for the annual accessories trade show at the Javits center. We found amazing designers and fantastic accessories for the website.

But before we got to the trade show we had to check out the vast array of shops on the lower east side. What better place than NoLita? There, I found this beautiful sweater in a Dolce Vita store. It's just the right fit.

Here are a few extra snapshots from the weekend!

As we were stolling around NoLita we came across this tiny resturant called Ruby's. It's on Mulberry between Spring and Prince - if you go definitely get one of their smoothies!
