Fashion Week.
It's fashion week here in New York City.

...Glamour.
As one might expect, I've spent it all amidst the artistically innovative, the visually stunning, the fashionably inspiring.
...Excitement.
I've been watching humans walk down long, straight, thin walkways in the season's latest trends.
...Beauty.
I've been witnessing the cutting-edge of stylistic creation. I've been taking in each piece with careful observation.
...Allure.
Yes, that's right. I've been going to classes.
...Mao Zedong.
While the "pieces" I speak of are my nightly readings, the artistically innovative are my classmates, the long walkways are the school corridors, the fashionably inspiring are all around. I have come to learn that attending NYU is like holding fashion week every week. Recently named America's Most Fashionable College by Women's Wear Daily, NYU students' dress sense is as colorful as the city around them.
Having had a glimpse of what's been on the runway this past week, I have come to know that it is not Michael Kors, D&G or any of the perennial fashion-week names that have caught my eye; it has been J. Crew. Yes, J. Crew.

I am growing more and more fond of this classic prep look with a bit of an urban edge. And the J. Crew Spring collection looks to embody that quite well. A simple tie, rolled-up jeans, and an oxford matched with loafers or wingtips is a look I will be frequenting come the Spring months - and probably during what's left of the warmth now as well.
The most vital component, is always for me, the shoes. I've been on a vigilant watch for the optimal pair of wingtips for quite some time now, and while a little more work does, admittedly, have to be done, I almost have the crosshairs set on the perfect pair.
A heads up - the Zara website has finally added its online store.
Shake it out,
Tucker

My Maine Adventure
Just writing you to tell you about my recent adventures. I wanted to do something crazy before I started college.. and well I did! While on vacation with my family, after passing about 5 billboards on the highways of Maine, Sky Dive New England had some sort of appeal to me. Being an adrenaline junkie and all I decided what the heck, called up made a reservation and was schedule to sky dive.. alone. No one else would do it with me! How ridiculous, I traveled to Lebanon, Maine. Checked in to the dive site ( which was so awesome ) It had such a good vibe everyone was so nice and very chill. The instructors and workers came from all over the world. I jumped tandem style ( since I didn't have a license to dive alone, working on getting that now! ) My dive instructors name was Matt an great dude, he's done over about 5,000 jumps. I ordered the video package as well, and my photographer was this guy Jamie from Australia. We all suited up, and at this point my nerves started to get going, I couldn't tell if I was more excited or scared.. As I sat in the plane I knew it was the nerves. We kept going higher and higher first it was 1,000 feet, 5,000 9,000 12,000 then 14,000... Everything looked so far away but yet so perfect. All you could see was the horizon of the sky, clouds and the outlines of the land. I was the last one to jump out of the plane, there were about 7 other people jumping as well. I was so nervous but knew I wanted to do it. We got to the door of the plane of course I looked down. My heart dropped and before I knew it we were out of the plane, doing a back flip off the platform free falling at 120 mph in the middle of the sky. I still get chills talking about it, the feeling of the wind is almost like a cushion you don't feel like you're falling out of the sky at a rapid speed you feel weightless. Its indescribable. Ask anyone who's done it before they all say the same thing, its a unique feeling and its addicting. As soon as I landed on the ground I knew this wasn't something I'd just do once, I'm already planning on doing it again within the next few months. If you ever have the chance to do it even If you're afraid of heights go for it!
You wont regret it, its a whole new perspective of the world from 14,000 feet.
You wont regret it, its a whole new perspective of the world from 14,000 feet.
